Trading & demo mode

Once you're signed in, Hoodini can buy and sell in one click — no wallet pop-ups, no confirmation dialogs. Trading (and everything below) needs an account: it moves your own funds, so there's nothing to do here signed out.

What an account gets you

• One-click buy & sell straight from any token page, sized and slippage-set from your preferences — no per-trade confirmation.
• Demo (paper) mode to practise with real prices and fake money.
• A live portfolio with realised and unrealised P&L.
• A non-custodial Robinhood Chain wallet, created for you at sign-in — only you can move its funds. See Your account & wallet.

How a trade works

The server never signs anything. When you hit Buy or Sell it reads the chain live — the token's real pool, your balance, your allowance, and a fresh quote — and composes the swap. Your embedded wallet signs and sends it. A few things are baked in so a no-confirmation click stays safe:

• Slippage-bounded minimum out. Every swap carries a floor derived from the live quote and your slippage setting, so a trade can't fill far from the price you were shown.
• A deadline. A swap that doesn't land in a few minutes reverts rather than executing late at a stale price.
• A gas check on buys, and a one-time approval before your first sell of a token (v4 pools use Permit2, so a first v4 sell sets up two one-time approvals; after that, sells are a single click).
• Robinhood Chain runs a single sequencer with no public mempool, so the usual sandwich attacks don't have a place to stand.

Source of truth is always the chain, never our cached numbers.

Which tokens you can trade in-app

One-click trades route the way the copy book does: the token's real market on any pool version — Uniswap v2, v3 or v4, hooks included — quoted in whatever it is paired with. A token paired with USDG or a tokenised stock is bought in two or three transactions — ETH to the quote asset, then on to the token — sent one after the other, each step sized from the previous receipt. We don't trust the pool we first indexed (a token often has several, and the first one seen can be an empty or high-fee decoy): the route is resolved live from the chain at trade time, and pools charging more than 3% are never routes at all. If a token still has no one-click route, the token page shows an external Buy link.

Your settings

On your account page, under trading:

• Default buy size — the ETH each Buy spends.
• Slippage — how far from the quote you'll still accept.
• Sell strategy — sell all, or keep a moonbag: a slice you hold back when you sell 100%.

Sell buttons are 25% / 50% / 100%. With a moonbag set, 100% sells everything except the moonbag.

Demo (paper) mode

Flip Demo mode on in your account settings to trade without spending anything. It's the same buttons and the same live prices — only the money is paper. Demo starts you with a paper ETH balance; buys and sells move that balance and build paper positions, priced off the real chain and refreshed continuously so your P&L tracks the market in near-real-time.

• Your portfolio shows the active mode front and centre, so real and paper are never confused.
• Demo and real never mix. Paper trades live in their own ledger; flipping back to real leaves them untouched and shows your on-chain holdings instead.
• There's a public demo leaderboard ranked by realised P&L — practise, then see where you land.
• Reset your demo account any time for a fresh balance.

Demo is the place to learn how the buttons behave before a single real cent is at stake.

P&L

The portfolio breaks P&L into realised (locked in from sells) and unrealised (open positions, valued off live quotes), with a total. Demo P&L is exact against the paper ledger. Real P&L is estimated from the quote price at send time — close, but not the exact on-chain fill.
